Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th - 21st Sep 2020]

People are going to need to get their head around the handball law quick. From this season the PL has fallen in line with UEFA for handballs.

Never a pen if any level of common sense was utilised within the laws of the game. And Utd have fallen victim to the one time this season a GK will be punished for being slightly off his line. Same as encroachment into the box, it's made a focus early every season and is then forgotten after about two weeks.

Not that I'm complaining...

Well of course you'll agree with it as the stupid rule won you a European Cup.

I don't see the problem with either penalty, if you've got your hand stuck out and block a shot it should be a penalty accident or not.. as for the retake if they're going to go by the absolute letter of the law and give players offside for 1mm then a keeper coming 1mm off their line shouldn't be allowed to stand either. I'd rather see some common sense personally.

Same as attacker now that any hand ball is hand ball?
Not quite but if your arm is away from your body then it's very likely to end up as a penalty.

I'm not sure I agreed with anything, I just explained the change in the interpretation of the law in the PL. The handball Liverpool got in the CL final the other season was a handball for about 10 years though
