Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 23rd Aug 2021]

Yea thats a beauty as well to be fair. No bookings either lol.

Did you see the challenge on Elliott that he managed to avoid in the 91st minute? Leg breaker.

Thankfully we don't have to play them again for a good few months. The reaction of a few chimpanzee pundits to Klopp's comments are going to embolden Burnley to be even more physical and like with any rule change or tweak, it takes a few months of extreme situations before things settle down. Just like the start of last season where any contact with the arm ended up being a pen and we were getting 2 pens per game, for a few months (or until somebody gets injured) we're going to see refs allowing the likes of Burnley to get away with their yard dog tactics before they realise they've gone too far the other way.

The suplex on Jota was the 'best' challenge of the match.
Brick Lesnar would be proud of that one

Could argue in the above clip Jota(?) should be pulled up for obstruction to be fair. They hardly ever get pulled up for it ..

EDIT actually maybe not, but obstruction hardly ever gets given, should do more often in my mind.

I agree obstruction needs punishing more...but that isnt obstruction.

VAR doing its job there. Not sure what the Leicester players are so upset about. What an idiot.
I think their point would be that he was pushed off balance prior to the challenge, and arguably could have got a free kick if he'd have gone down. What followed after that is a clear red though.

Other than the sending off, this has gone exactly like our games with West Ham last year. Lots of possession without doing much, West Ham playing on the break and looking dangerous. Ironically the sending off might help in the sense we might be able to hit them on the break instead.
Don't see us getting anything from this now though.

I also really miss Benrahma playing for us - him, Watkins, Mbuemo and Toney would be a pretty amazing front line for Brentford in the Prem!
