Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th - 29th May 2023]

Luton have known about this situation for over a year having almost got promoted last season. Their chairman was on the radio a couple of weeks back discussing it and while it's a big task, he seemed confident that it could be achieved. The stupid thing is they're going to have to spend all that money on their current stadium and then it'll be knocked down in 2-3 years time as they're about to start work on a brand new ground.

Yep can't see it happening.

They have like 'corporate' seating right above the dugouts.

And by corporate I mean like some uPVC doors and a couple of seats in front of them. It's a mad setup.
And undersoil heating. Need that to meet PL requirements and Kenilworth Road doesnt have any

The EPL should give them special dispensation to play at KR without the massive investment in the Prem on the proviso that they'll soon move.

Apparently we had it for Griffin Park if we'd have gone up with the G-tech on the horizon.

I love old **** grounds and KR is up there with the worst. Not been for almost 20 years, so looking forward for a trip there next season. Don't think my wife would have sanctioned Coventry away!

Was indifferent who got promoted out of the two as I have a soft spot for both. Pleased for Luton though, what a journey.

Don't you mean 'we'?

I don’t. For some reason you’ve assumed I support them. In reality I’ve just spent a bit time up that way and have family who are mackems.

I’m well aware of how deluded the geordie nation are and how obsessed they are with Sunderland, even when they aren’t playing.

The fact most of you only pipe up now you’ve sold your soul to the devil speaks volumes.

Yea, common sense should come into play here. If there are things that are absolutely essential then fair enough, do whatever can be done to put them in place before the season starts but allow an exception for some of the smaller issues.

I can only think that the PL wouldn't want it to set a precedent that allows other clubs to have stadiums not up to scratch, especially if Luton are only in the PL for one season.

Jeff Stelling final Soccer Saturday today, will record that while I watch the matches as I am expecting them to do some big montage look back at all the great moments in Soccer Saturday history before he gives his goodbye talk, so should be a good trip down memory lane

Nowt like a Soccer Saturday on a Sunday

Old habit, its actually called Gillette Soccer now, I just still call it Soccer Saturday :)
It'll no doubt be a good watch regardless. I really like Jeff, he's top notch and I can't recall a single time he's been biased or disrespectful to another club. He just states the facts in a well-presented manner. Top bloke.

Have you heard him during games, giving results out as they happen? He is so biased when it comes to Hartlepool, probably because its his team :D . He always made me laugh when mentioning H'pool.
