Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th Aug - 1st Sept 2022]

Fabinho in for Milner tonight but midfield still seems a weak link for Liverpool. The lad Elliot is doing ok as the more advanced player but Salah having another predictable night. Klopp doesn't look too happy, he's gonna need a fag at half time!

If it stays like this...5pts from a possible 15pts at the start of the season isnt good. When you consider that 1pt was the difference between winning the league and finishing 2nd last season, to be 10 pts behind the leaders after just 5 games, is a mountain to climb after just 1 month.
and City ain't stopping this season (unless Haalands leg falls off!) so 10 points behind is pretty much game over.

I've found some of Klopps comments with transfers interesting too, he hasn't as such called them out but stating he would have taken more risks etc, I think he is getting frustrated now.

Title's already gone, City won't drop as many points as they did last season, and top 4 could be a real test if things don't change soon. We can't defend for **** and our attack's so pedestrian it's easy for teams to just sit back and soak up the pressure.

Liverpool will be lucky to qualify for the Europa Conference at this rate, Klopp really does need to add some depth to the squad but he insists on relying on an aging injury prone midfield.

Not a chance in hell we see this out, but it’s so refreshing as a Newcastle fan to actually have a go at the 2 top clubs in the country instead of just sitting back and waiting for the inevitable

Any shot of a title was basically built on hoping Haaland misses over half of City's games :D
It was gone after the first game with our own injuries let alone how we've been since, if we get things together the remainder of the top 4 could be very interesting

I could see the battle for 2nd to 4th being considerably more interesting than the battle for the title this season. Which is a bit sad but it is what it is.
