He didnt. Mane was good at tracking back but Salah is a different level. Even since AFCON everyone keeps saying how Salah has been poor yet scored one goal less then Mane...

Mane started last season poor aswell.

For me its recency bias.

Teams have learnt how to play against us now. Keep 10 men in the box, throw an attacker out wide behind Trent or Robertson and profit. The players obviously need to concentrate for the full 90 minutes but it's an incredibly basic but efficient way of playing against us.
