Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 8th February 2023]

They are quite a nasty team and referees let them get away with it. The foul on Antony that lead to all the fisticuffs was cynical and he knew what he was doing and where he was. Intentionally sent him down the steep edges at the side of the pitch. The ridiculousness of Viera then remonstrating with the ref at the end of the game as well.

All that being said you can’t get away with grabbing someone by the throat especially with VAR around. It was silly.

He didn't grab him by the throat. He was holding his shirt collar trying to stop Hughes from rushing in. A red seems pretty damn harsh, if that was a red then 2/3 other people should have got red in that encounter. Hell the original foul was more violent conduct.

You can even see in that freeze frame he is holding his shirt, not his neck. That's why the shirt is tense. Seriously watch the clip. They were even hugging afterward!

Here is a better video: https://i.redd.it/6o2bzftk59ga1.gif

He's holding him by the shirt stopping him rushing in like happens in every single brawl. It's the opposite of violent, he's trying to stop Hughes doing something violent :D
