We put in 3 crosses perfect for Wghorst after he went off today and also the last game, same thing, putting in great crosses after he was taken off.

Because that completely reduces football to a game of "who scored more goals" and nothing else matters when deciding if a team played well or not. I mean come on. Have some common sense. United have battered Leeds in recent years and everything has just come off. We didn't deserve to batter them but we did. By your logic they did deserve to get battered because we managed to stick 5 goals in from an xG of less than half that.
 
Only saw the 2nd half and it was as expected. The fall off without Casemiro and Eriksen is so huge. Fred is everywhere but normally with a misplaced tackle, pass or skewed shot. He's a ****** menace in a bad way. Sabitzer looked a bit shocked and we had no structure in midfield. Hardly a surprise with four midfielders injured of suspended. Pellestri looks a bit lightweight at this level and I suspect that's why he's not getting much game time - interestingly Gnonto is quite a robust wee thing and was much more effective. 2 points dropped - poor stuff

Maybe I’m tired, but I don’t understand that at all.

Yes it was a deflection, but they were all over us from the start of the second half and doesn't help that Garnacho decided to try and play out of an impossible situation in our defensive third. I also think Varane needs to get closer to the player, rather than stick out a peg as the ball is coming across him.

Doesn't mean he was going to score from them, and the team played better once he went off.

You can't have it both ways. If your players who all the chances end up falling to have shockers that doesn't mean you played badly. You are essentially suggesting that the only way you can "deserve" to win a game is by winning a game i.e. taking your chances. I have seen a huge number of United games where we haven't deserved to get anything from the game but have because the opposition couldn't hit the back end of a barn door. That doesn't mean I think we deserved the result.
 
I've watched him play, he's pretty ineffective in the final third and no threat to the goal at all. In the modern game you expect goals and assists from across the entire front line.

As an aside, the xG for yesterdays game was 2.29 - 0.68.

As for Weghorst, i'm not convinced by him. I know what he is there to do, I just don't think we are a team that operates in a way that suits him. Fundamentally he was a "what can we get for free" player. We needed a striker and he was what was available. Hes not close to Martial in any area of his game but without him we would have no strikers.

I really hope that we have our new owners sorted out by the summer and that we can make the signings we need. There is a good team here at United, its just missing a few pieces. Martial should be moved on because hes just never fit. If we had a fit Martial all season I think we would honestly be near the top of the league. Unfortunately thats a pipe dream. Mans made out of croissants. We need him to be made out of day old baguettes.
