Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [5th - 7th November 2021]

Going to Brighton vs Newcastle on Saturday, I am seriously hoping there is no manager announcement tomorrow for a new manager bounce :D

Although it’s going to be sad if we don’t win!

We're so poorly organized at the back it's unreal. No confidence whatsoever. Bailey looks gassed already having to constantly make runs back on the right.

This has all the hallmarks of a classic Southampton dominant performance but throwing it away because we haven't converted pressure into (enough) goals

Absolute dung. Saints should be out of sight and El Ghazi should be half way home.

Bailey's had a shocker too. I'd rather Bill Bailey was playing for us right now.

The luckiest 45 minutes I've seen this season. El Ghazi is a reckless fool and Bailey needs to stop looking for runs and start playing as part of a team. We have to start taking the sting out of the game when it goes against us instead of constantly praying for errors.

Don't want to take anything away from Southampton though, they've been great.

Dean Smith next manager out of the door imo

I don't want him to go really. He's done us well these past few years and in my opinion he's earned the right to try and bring us back on track. But if we loose tonight and can't make anything out of the tough fixtures coming in the next 4 weeks then I'll change my tune.

Southampton are lucky Villa appear to be just as garbage as they are going forward.

SEVEN minutes?

That was far more difficult to see out than it needed to be

Silly mistakes cost us at least a point there. So much better that second half but it means nothing if we can't even hit the target more then once.

Don't know what to say really. As I said earlier I personally don't want Smith to go but Villa fans are merciless and I wouldn't be supried if he was ousted by Monday. For who I have no idea but...

pivotal point for Villa now, continue this form into Christmas and there is a very good chance you'll get relegated, other clubs are hitting abit of form(Leeds/Burnley) and Newcastle might start to fight now with a big injection of players in Jan, I fear they will end in the bottom 3.

Really looking forward to the Manchester Derby.

See if Critiano cann pull united out the muck again :cry:

Dean Smith is a notoriously streaky manager. Used to do the same at Brentford and Walsall. Long, good runs of form followed by a couple of months of dross.

I don't think Villa should get rid of him, but he's going to come under increasing pressure if performances carry on being so poor.

I wonder how much of an impact the departure of Richard O'Kelly has had... and to a lesser extent John Terry.

We've got Norwich at home today - could be interesting given the amount of injuries and knocks we've got, coupled with a tiny squad. I reckon the side we'll put out today will be a lesser one than 9 months ago in the Championship!
