Rangnick will speak about physicality again after this game because United have lost every 50:50 and most of the 40:60s. Sadly this is the sort of game where Mata is shown up for all his weaknesses. Both him and particularly Elanga are passengers which leaves you well short against a team like Brighton. Ho hum.

Its been a good visual explanation for why Mata doesn't start for us and hasn't featured much for us over the years. If we are on the back foot or the opposition press us he is completely useless.

We came 2nd last season with pretty much the same bunch of players...
Either all the players have completely lost their footballing ability or people are talking rubbish. With a decent manager and a few signings we could easily get top 3 next season.
The issue is attitude and application, not talent. To turn over Liverpool and City we need to replace most of the squad but to compete for top 3 its not that hard.

Are my maths correct that if Utd lose then spurs/arsenal are guaranteed 5th or above finish? 6th for Utd would give proper Europa right?

May of finished second last season but it's not really an achievement given the other teams were in such a dire situation. This team looks void of all motivation.
Only 3-4 of this team really good for any proper United standard. De Gea, Ronaldo, Fernandes and Sancho if be can get going. Rest are finished or not good enough for title challenging
