Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 13th May 2021]

Nice to see any of the so called big six lose out on a CL place after their mutiny.

Would be more impactful if it wasnt that one of the top six won the league and one of the top 6 also won the Champions League and another of the top 6 might win the Europa League.3 major trophies for the top 6 probably outweighs the impact of one of the top 6 not making it to the top 4.

True, but every little helps.

I'd still like to see all six clubs getting a 10 point penalty for next season, at least.

Nothing against the fans, but unfortunately the only things that will hurt the owners will also impact on them.

This still carrying on? For what rule break?

Just ran out of legs in the end, we were on top in the first half but Matic and Mata can't keep pace for 90 mins.

They have hardly played any games this season.

We pay these two say 15m a season (combined salary) and they can't last a full EPL game?

Idiocy to keep them if they can't even do a basic job once or twice when they are called on.

If you want to keep them around as coaches offer them a coaching contract as coaches and free up some funds to buy better players.

We had the option to bring players in during the January window and squandered it while simultaneously extending mata's contract.

Incredible City have won the title when you look at where their goals have come from without an Aguero or similar.

1. Ilkay Gundogan 43 games 16 goals
2. Phil Foden 47 games 14 goals
2. Riyad Mahrez 45 games 14 goals
2. Raheem Sterling 46 games 14 goals
5. Gabriel Jesus 38 games 13 goals

Fodens the best young player I've seen in 15 years. What does he have 6 major trophies already?

I mean he's barely played until recently. Even this season he's only started 15 games.

It isn't really incredible when you look at City they have a billion pound squad...a condensed season is perfect for them.

Not really. If you stack enough top quality attacking players into a side and don't have a CF then they will score your goals. All of the above are attacking players and Jesus is a forward in that bunch. Most teams just wouldn't have enough quality to drop a traditional striker completely but City have that in spades.
