Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 13th May 2021]

Here's one for you folks, Man City's top goalscorer in the league has 12 league goals. Has a team over won the league before with a lower total from their top goalscorer (accepting the fact they have 3 games left)?

NB - not suggesting this is a good or bad thing, just an observation given the typical media statements about teams needing a 15 goal a season man, or 20 goal a season for those at the top.

I doubt it because traditionally you wouldn't have 8+ goalscoring midfielders/forwards and no proper CF.

They have:

Aguero (barely played)
KdB
Mahrez
Foden
Sterling
Gundogan
Jesus
Torres
Silva

Realistically they do as they cannot afford two full squads of top quality players. I think this years fixture list has flattered City far better than other teams as their squad depth is unrivalled. Only Rodri and Dias have played more than thirty games this season and City have played the most games out of anyone.

No Kabak, Milner or Keita for us tonight. All are nursing knocks although getting out of the wrong side of bed seems to be enough to put Keita out for weeks.

Its pretty ****** to be told, "we can cancel the game and no teams will be punished as a result of the rearranged games" only to find that its quite likely to be the difference between european football and only domestic competition for your team. Doesn't surprise me though. All the football associations are run by utter clowns.
That's the bit some Liverpool supporters were focusing on but as Klopp points out in the article, it hasn't helped but we've only got ourselves to blame if we miss out on top 4/Europe.

We've choked two wins in the last few minutes against Leeds and Newcastle in recent weeks and lost 6 games in a row at Anfield, a new club record. Things haven't gone our way but if we don't finish in the top 4 there are far more things to look back on and think we could've done better.

A Liverpool bus has been blocked, not clear whether it's actually the team on it. Surely there would be a police escort for the actual bus?

If Liverpool don't make it to the ground then surely they haven't provided enough security and should forfeit ;)

So our 'fans' have blocked the Liverpool team bus down a side road and let the tyres down?

Moderately amusing but I mean come on... a bit daft.

Numbers are increasing.

If and I think it's a big if this doesn't go ahead. Those who said a forfeit was too much....what now? Do we try again to reschedule?
