Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 13th May 2021]

VAR highlights the handball, VAR highlights no player is between the player and the goal but the ref makes yet another incompetent decision. Sack the lot of them, they bringing the game in to disrepute and I'm absolutely certain they're doing it on purpose because they don't like their errors being highlighted every week.

Edit: Ah, the ref was David Coote. How's he still refereeing in the Prem?

Said it before, the cynic in me believes they’re making such an arse of VAR that when they pull it they can say “We tried it and it obviously doesn’t work “

Nah, VAR is here to stay unfortunately. Making such a mess of it would be a risky strategy as there is more chance of referees getting replaced than VAR being rolled back.

I'm just waiting for the ******** when fans are back and putting the refs under massive pressure. This should have made VAR so much easier. They have had a year without being screamed at by 70,000 fans. There is no excuse for so many of their decisions.

Thats an appalling decision. Keeper should be off there for deliberate handball. If the keeper doesn't handle that perhaps he still takes out one or both players but I would give the benefit of the doubt to the striker when it comes to such obvious cheating from the keeper.

Gutted Fulham are relegated, no one down the bottom has any pressure to do well in their remaining fixtures.

Makes it more important that we get a result at united tonight. Hoping they are saving themselves for the main event on Thursday. :D

You play the game in front of you then assess imo. Number 20 is still on.

It ain't over until its over. I think we can get away with resting quite a few of our players though. Don't want to risk injuries before the EL final. Could probably operate some sort of on/off system to keep players fresh but match sharp. Off tonight, on for next game, off for the next etc. Seems fair that way.

No issue with that line-up, can't ask players to play 3 games in 5 days so rest them tonight for Thursdays game. Liverpool did the same years ago under Benítez and I'm sure Klopp would do the same if he were put in the same position.

It's their choice and the previous years' champions shouldn't need to rely on the result of others to get top 4, only ourselves to blame.
