It was tight, looks like he might be in his own half as the pass is being played.

Weird there was no replay/VAR.
What we see on Sky isn't always what VAR are looking at. You'd assume they would have checked that first but when you first saw it, it looked like Son was just in Leicester's half.

With none of Leicester defenders back for Utd, I can't see how they get even a point next week. A shame for their season to end this way.

Rogers with a face like thunder. Would love to be a fly on the wall of their half time talk.
There's not much he can do or say. He's without 3 of his back 4 and his back-ups and Bennett and Morgan - they make Evan's look like VVD. That back 3 against any sort of mobile attack is a car crash but again, he has no other options.

I don't know. If you have a slow and old back line the worst thing you can do is to keep a high-ish line and allow the opposition a lot of chances to hit you on the counter.
In normal circumstances I'd agree but given the situation, they've had to set-up to go and win today, not to sit deep and hope for the best. You have to remember that a loss or a draw doesn't change much for them - they've got to assume that Utd will beat West Ham and at the very least Chelsea are picking up 3 points from their remaining 2 games. Draw or lose and they still need to beat Utd on the final day. Win and they've got one foot in the CL.

If United beat West ham by a decent amount Leicester will need to equal that score even if United lose against them. ATM United and Leicester are equal on GD. If Spurs score another United go into 4ty without even playing!
No they won't. If Utd win 4-0 vs West Ham their GD will be 4 better but Leicester will only need a 2 goal win to reverse that as Utd's GD will drop by 2 and Leicester's will increase by 2 - that will leave you level on GD but Leicester would be ahead on goals scored.

It was outside the area, does that mean VAR can't overturn it? Not sure what the rules are on that.
Correct. It would only decide whether it was a red for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity but as Martial wasn't in control of the ball that clearly wasn't the case.

You could argue that had Zouma not booted him he would have had the ball in on goal. It wasn't like the ball was bouncing high or awkwardly.
Just waited to see the replay again, that's never a red. He's in an awkward body position trying to pinch the ball in front of the Chelsea defender and there's a 2nd Chelsea defender coming round on the cover. There's huge doubt that he's controlling the ball cleanly, to get into a position to get a clear shot away and that the 2nd Chelsea defender isn't getting back at him for that to be a clear goalscoring opportunity.

How do you go from being arguably the best keeper in the world to mid table in the league? Must be down to coaching staff or something surely?

Full on attack now.
He wouldn't be the first keeper that's just fell off a cliff. Pepe Reina was the same - he just woke up in 2010 and decided he wasn't going to dive for anything every again and stuck to it for 10 years.

Some commentators don't half talk some ****. Earlier they spent 5 minutes talking about how shocked they were De Gea made a mistake, as if he's not been throwing them in for the past 2 years and now it will be a standout season for Lampard if he can get them in the CL and FA Cup Final - Chelsea of course finished 3rd and won the FA Cup last season.

Although in fairness they had Hazard last season, and weren't coming off a transfer ban
They had a transfer ban and yet added Pulisic, Mount, Abraham & Tomori to their squad and had Loftus-Cheek & Odoi back from long-term injuries. Of course it wasn't ideal but it was hardly the end of the world with them adding £100-150m worth of players to their squad still.

Yeah I get you, but they've rebuilt pretty substantially, without being able to go actively recruit. I'm not a Chelsea fan, but I think if you'd asked them at the start of the season they'd have been delighted with top 4 and the FA Cup (if they win it).
It's a decent season but when you consider the seasons Utd, Spurs and Arsenal have had, it's hardly the massive achievement the commentators were making it out to be. What Rodgers has done at Leicester or Wilder at Sheffield Utd has been far more impressive.
