Greenlizard0 Premier League & FA Cup SF Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26th April - 1st May 2025]

Barring a major comeback, you've got to feel sorry for Villa (except Martinez). They've had such a decent season, competing on all fronts and it's looking like all they'll have to show for it is a place in the Conference League or Europa at best.

Really pleased for Palace though. They're probably the most likeable side in the League.

Oh well. The one competition we had a realistic shot at and we're undone yet again by our bogey team.
Palace outplayed you all game, really hard done by with the disallowed goal and could even afford to miss a penalty, that said you’ve had a decent season but you need to ensure you finish strongly otherwise could miss out on European football next season

After what Palace did at the Emirates last week shouldn't have bet against them.

Only a few quid.

All good fun.

Palace have the cup written all over them.

As for Villa. Good season, but yeh. Not going to be better for them next season imo.

Well, I'm feeling glad all over

I would prefer us to get Forest in the final. Only because I'd like to see both our fans have the cup final experience rather than Man City or any other "big club"

He probably will after Liverpool sign him in the summer.

I doubt we will keep Wharton forever but I really can't see him going in the summer. He is on a long contract and is pretty happy. The club doesn't want to sell him so unless they get offered silly money I think he will stay for at least another season after this.

I'm hoping that if I keep mentioning it, it might happen. There's not been any real stories linking us with him but it really wouldn't surprise me if we made a move for him.

This result just speaks volumes of what we have all been discussing over the past few weeks. The PL is quality!
Doesn’t matter who you are if you don’t turn up or not enough rest your getting turned over.

We smashed Palace, Villa smashed us and now Palace have smashed Villa.

Villa have a fantastic squad and a wage bill to suit. They have failed UEFA FFP and from my understanding needs sales before the June deadline or the ole PL is coming knocking. They are also considering selling the woman’s team.

Its shocking what teams have to do to try and complete in the PL.

Job done. Would have been nice to boost the goal difference even further, but can’t really complain about a straightforward 3-0 win. :D

Up to 3rd (albeit Forest have a game in hand).

HWTL!
Seen somewhere that’s now 21 wins out of 26 games since December!! That’s incredible consistency.

Also seen we are second last in number of changes to the first starting 11.

That’s simply incredible and shows how poor our squad is and somehow we are sitting 3rd and won silverware.

Hopefully the players can keep going for 4 more games. Joelinton away to see a specialist about his knee :/

90 odd % wages to turnover too. Zero debt.
