Arsenal couldn't catch a cold

Fun seeing that Wissa equaliser go in down the end we were sitting.
Going 1-0 down and then seeing a triple substitution with Saka, Odergaard and MLS coming on is a terrifying thing to see on the football pitch... but I thought it turned the game in our favour. And I'd have liked to have seen us push on a bit more when Arsenal were down to 10 men, but I think we we knackered by then.

We have never done the double over Manu in PL history, this is a much harder game than people are thinking.Doh. I was looking forward to an easy goal or two thanks to an Onana howler.
Guess we’ll have to do it the old fashioned way.
Oh yeah, it’s absolutely a potential banana skin. Not a guaranteed 3 points by any stretch.

You’re forgetting how poor this Man Utd team is. If you can close down and stop Bruno you’ve basically got them sussed.
They’re 13th in the league for a reason and only scored a handful more goals than Ipswich.
Attacking options like Hojlund, Garnacho, Zirkzee etc have about 5 goals between them in about 100 matches. Dire.
Their midfield can’t run or control a game and basically pass the ball backwards.
Maguire has slowly come back and is arguably now their best centre back and they’ve been trying to get rid of him for not being good enough.

Bayindir so far is pretty much the same. Generally a pretty damn good shot stopper most of the time, but does have the occasional absolute clown show error that will cost you games.
I guess Bayindir hasn't single-handedly dumped us out of Europe yet though, so he has that advantage.
I feel like Mazroui, Maguire and Yoro are starting to gel, our defence is improving. Hojlund should be dropped, he's simply not good enough, Zirkzee isn't a 9 but he's a naturally much more talented footballer and I'd rather have him on the pitch.
Hard to call this game, forever hopeful, but we are also capable of getting an absolute hiding, especially if Isak has another blinder, he will punish us.

Yeah but this is Newcastle we’re talking about. Despite the cup win and our improved form over the last few seasons, it’s going to take a lot more than that to heal a lifetime of seeing us snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I’m perpetually nervous of any game we ‘should easily win on paper’.
