Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 16th December 2021]

Twice in two games, Newcastle have been ****** over by **** refereeing decisions.

Obviously that’s not the main reason we’re at the foot of the table, but nothing like getting kicked when we’re down.

Which decision is that then as weve already touched on your lads feigning injury to stop play.

Is it the clear penalty Liverpool should have got for that clear push that has got to you?

Not enough is being said of the Newcastle lad looking up then dropping to the floor with a head injury by the way.

Tallsport frothing all night about this.

What they should do in situations like this is humiliate them live on camera. After the match they should be put in front of a live camera , shown the replays from all angles in super slowmo and then put on the spot with the question "having seen the footage and that clearly there was no head contact, why did you hold your head?"

Put them on the spot, embarass them live on tv and do that everytime someone play acts. Wont take long before the embarassment and humiliation stops it from happening.

Sorry like but I’m a Newcastle fan through and through, but we got lucky that Liverpool scored their second goal, if that wasn’t scored the VAR would have brought it back for a penalty and schar would have been sent off, we should have had a pen because TAA took the man first but they should have had one as well for the barge in the back. So all in all I can’t really see how it wasn’t a fair result

It is pretty shocking for those who have had serious head injuries in the past few years, Mason, Jimenez, Cech etc and oyu have players taking the **** like that, but no one will take action so nothing will change

After the De Gea/Arsenal goal there was some debate on here about whether keepers would feign injury to stop play from set-plays in future and although it wasn't a keeper, yesterday showed you that players would do that. I'm sure it's something that's discussed on training grounds because coaches and players know that if you go down with a head injury the game is stopped - it's an easy way to kill off 2nd phases of corners/free-kicks.

I mentioned last night that had Dean seen the player down prior to the ball falling to Jota 5 yards out then he'd have stopped the game and because of all the serious head injuries that we've seen, all refs should continue to do so. What needs to be looked at is retrospective action taken against players that have clearly feigned head injuries.

Eddie Howe's a bit of a prat too. In his attempts to dress up the faked injury, he claimed that Hayden was dazed for 5 minutes after the incident. I assume Newcastle are now going to sack their physio and doctor for allowing Hayden back on the pitch given all the concussion protocols.

No what they should do, especially after Howes comments about how Hayden was dazed for 5 minutes, is enforce the concussion protocol and keep Hayden out for 10 days missing the City,Everton and United matches then question Howe as to why he kept him on.

Well thats another big question isnt it, why if Howe was convinced that he had a head injury which resulted in him being dazed still 5 mins later, did he decide to keep that person on the pitch for the rest of the match. Doesnt seem like someone who is all that concerned with his players welfare does it.

Unless of course, Howe was talking out of his proverbial rear end.

The games evolved over the past 10-15 years where acting and faking injury has became the norm. To the point of putting your hand on an opponents shoulder makes a full grown 15 stone athlete collapse into a pile on the floor like he just got snipered.

The state of the play acting and faking will be here forever until it starts to punish teams. I.e exactly like what happened to Newcastle last night.

Too many quotes to reply to individually:

Fair enough. I hadn’t seen it, just read the write-up (which didn’t state it was acting btw) and Howe’s comments.

Having watched the incident, plus the fact that he stayed on the pitch afterwards, I retract half of my previous statement.

Still angry about the Leicester penalty mind. :p
