Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 19th February 2025]

Well that was a tough slog. Stole 3 points there with that 2nd half performance. Can't play like that in the next 3

Well I didn't think that was going to be the way the match ended at HT. I'm not sure whether it was fatigue or complacency on our part but we didn't come out in the second half - we had no control in possession but thankfully we defended pretty well and Wolves really didn't create a great deal.

Good 3 points, we look dead on our feet though. Bit concerning as that was probably the 'easiest' of our next glut of fixtures

Think Slot will rotate against Villa, but that’s going to be a brutal game away, saying it now, need an early goal to settle the game down and force Villa to push out.

I’d argue we were fortunate with some last ditch defending.

What last ditch defending other than the Quansah block? I wouldn’t say that was fortunate either, it was good defending.

We played terribly in the second half and allowed Wolves to have far too many attacks but dealt with them, on the whole, fairly comfortably. It felt more nervy than what was actually happening in the game probably justified due to the circumstances. It wasn’t like Wolves had lots of clear chances on goal, not that I can recall anyway.

United line-up looks dodgy as.

Burno alongside Case and Dalot also still on the left.

Spurs going to tear that apart.

Tempted to put money on it!

No idea why Amorim persists on Dalot on the left. Surely Dorgu on the left and Dalot on his favoured right would be better as Dalot is terrible on the left (to be fair he’s been terrible most of the season wherever he’s been)

I'm a bit behind on the latest. Diallo out for the season?

Is relegation still a possibility?!
Yep, Mainoo out for 6 weeks.

Relegation is incredibly unlikely. Would require teams below us to have a huge uptick in form which they haven't really shown signs of. The likes of Ipswich would have to practically double their points in 13 games.

**** The bed what happened to Mainoo?

Is this one of the issues with younger kids playing full time etc not to mention it's probably harsher on the body than a free flowing/well-oiled team
