Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 20th January 2025]

Just back from the match and well that was terrible, it was absolutely needed though to bring some of the fans and pundits expectations back to reality, BTW Bournemouth were absolutely tremendous, we were well beaten and they are the best team to rock up at SJP this season.

Bournemouth are a great side, hence my confusion when we lost 3-0 - people were acting like it was some sort of unexpected upset...

Worth also remembering Iraola had a really rough start there, he didn't win a match for 10 games.

Tbf they’ve been good from this position in recent years, just the cheats be cheating in front of them

I haven't seen anyone mention that Haaland contract? Pretty strange especially in light of the charges they are supposedly still facing...

lol they’re never getting a meaningful punishment
Enjoy the years people win in between them, all you can do

With Spurs in 15th do we think Ange might get the boot if they don't reach the League Cup final?

I'm sure Levy will be thinking about it, but I'd keep hold of him for the time being. The reality is though, you can't play like Spurs do unless you have the best squad in the league, and that's unlikely to ever be the case.

Gut punch at the end. Thought we deserved a point for our defensive performance today, but the subs made all the difference - Liverpool's worked, ours didn't.

Didn't think much of the ref, but at least he didn't play a central role today. Thought we defended amazingly but were very poor in the final third. We couldn't seem to find the right ball and I was starting to go mad when we continually fluffed up our counters by not finding Mbuemo when he was in space.

I must admit I thought Liverpool were excellent. The ability to break the press at ease, the movement, the defensive positioning, etc. And to do all that at such pace. That's the best they've been at place in the four years since we've been in the Prem, and I'm including us being comfortably beaten last season.
