Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 3rd September 2023]

I have to admit Palace are going about their business quietly this season.
It’s an interesting one. I think Zaha had a bit of a hold on the club so I’m glad he had gone to be honest.

We used to get big scalps but get done by teams our level. If we can do well against both it might be a very interesting season for us.

Bit of an odd first half. Arsenal the better side but I suspect tactically ten Hag is reasonably pleased other than the equalizer, which was a well worked goal but pretty feeble defending. Still think we lack physicality. there was an incident in the first half where both MArtial and Rashford shirked challenges. Eriksen did well for the goal but he's really lightweight and can't take a challenge so he lays the ball off backwards. We need a midfielder who can receive the ball and and hold off a pressing opponent, turn and progress the ball forward. Pogba did it quite well occasionally. Fernandes very quiet again.

Havertz is truly useless. Literally everyone I've spoken to at the game thinks he is ****. Get him off and Eddie too.

If you said to me we would be 1:1 at half time with 56% possession and 86% pass accuracy at the Emirates I would have bit your hand off.

Saying that it was a similar story against Spuds in the first half at their place and we quickly came unstuck.

I do agree with the sentiment with Arsenal's forward line. It is almost like City was before Haaland. They really need to go all in for that Napoli striker in the next summer as Jesus and Havertz are not going to win you the big games.

Martial is so frustrating, usually his hold up play is good but was easily pushed off the ball there. Another player who should have been sold a couple of seasons ago

Antony making amends there, we've been very sloppy today. Dalot missing that pass into Fernandes, Lindelöf not seeing the ball out, Antony giving possession away.
