Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 22nd December 2024]

This game is going to be a half-decent indicator as to whether the team is actually starting to click or whether the last couple of wins were down to our home advantage.

Admittedly, a better test would be a stronger side than Ipswich but if we can get a win here then hopefully it gives us the momentum we need going into Villa/ManU/Spurs over the Christmas period.

Given our away form, we’ll probably make a meal out of it. :( But if we play with the same intensity as Leicester and Brentford, I’m cautiously optimistic of a win.

Frankly, a boring 0-1 win would do - but it would be a nice statement of intent if we put them to the sword…

Well, it was definitely a statement of intent! And that was with J7 suspended.

Let’s hope they can keep that up against Villa, especially as we’re at home. A win would put us one point above them.

Newcastle has a horrible record on Boxing Day, and Villa’s tails will be up after beating City, but we’ve performed well against the teams above us this season, so this will be another really good test.

Hope the lads have a good Christmas (but not too good).

the Man City slow-motion crash is more complicated than just a slump in form, or Rhodri being injured. Pep said he expected their Court Case to be announced in Feb/March, but tellingly he said the "sentence" will be announced then, not the verdict. It seems very likely that City's Board have admitted some level of culpability and they are negotiating a plea deal - and this has filtered through to the team, with the resulting blow in moral... what do you think?
