Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 22nd December 2024]

When you say almost every metric is "winning games" part of that? I havent checked stats but for me, you arent moving forward in that department and its kinda inportant.
It's almost as if a large part of the problem is the players! You can't polish a turd.

What chance does any team in the EPL have when Zirkzee starts as the striker?

Didn't zirkzee cost about 40m?

United's biggest problem is poor recruitment. They've pretty much spent more than any other club over the last few years, bar Chelsea of course. Yet they are 13th.

They need a whole new recruitment team and transfer committee.

I think that is why Ashworth was dumped. Our summer signings haven't really made us any better at all. Just increased squad size and that's it.

We never addressed the problem at left back which obviously shows now.

The only bright spark is that hopefully we will now offload Rashford and can use some of that money to bring in some wingbacks of some description in January.

Maza and Ugarte seem good, have not seen De Ligt's stats so I can't comment there. Yoro has barely played.

I don't think they're the problem.

Maybe Zirkzee is still adjusting......

People pretending Bournemouth are garbage for some reason. They've already beaten Arsenal, City and Spurs and are 5th!

I'd be more concerned if they'd outplayed us. But the fact that we created more chances suggests the problem is the players not the system.

Yeah, the main thing is that we're not really being outplayed anymore since Amorim (for the most part), just some horrific one off mistakes being very costly.

Thought Hojland looked good yesterday when he came on too and really getting more involved in games rather than just being isolated up front.

It's very much a work in progress at United.

People expecting things to change overnight are deluded (imo at least).

Already looking forward to next season.

Amorim is the right man for the job, I have no doubt about that. But yeh, there is a lot of work to do. Simple as that.

Ashworth doesn’t have a scouting network. He’s a facilitator.

Going by Manu latest results maybe he was right at wanting to appoint Southgate!!
