Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26th - 28th December 2023]

Great result and performance in the end, pretty dominant all things considered against a good side.

Delighted for Hojlund, couldn't have worked out better.

Nailed on for a loss against Forest at the weekend :p

Emery will be very disappointed with his team today. They should have been good enough to see this out but never really had any grip on the game and left it quite open which played into the hands of United. The pace of Rashford and Garnacho caused problems and we had better connections with Eriksen vs McTominay. Without being a killjoy, we've been here so many times and therefore I'm not getting carried away.

Pathetic second half from us there. Couldn't string a damn thing together and probably the worst 30 minutes I've seen us play all season. When we loose out on the possession and rely on the counter were just not sharp enough in the midfield to make it count.

Hell have a lot to say to those boys tonight. We didn't give United enough credit which is a rookie error.

Just watched the Newcastle game. Very poor. Defenders and goalkeeper making Chris Wood look like prime Alan shearer and with basically zero quality in the final third. That confidence and swagger the team had at the start of the season has completely gone.
Hard to pinthe slump on any one factor but the dip in form of both trippier and almiron has been telling. I also think Pope would have dealt with the goals a bit better, he usually has a higher starting position so would have expected he would have at least made things more difficult for Wood. Newcastles poor run of results since his injury is no longer a coincidence

Well I finally gave up on ETH when we went 2-0 down, turned it off and went to sleep

I have spectacularly bad FPL picks too if anyone else wants to know how to remain bottom of every league :D
