The point is exactly the same, though? Both involve a high boot, and if not dangerous aren't a foul. Why should it make a difference whether the player throws himself in the air?

It’s a high boot towards the goal and ball, not towards the player. Johnson headed his foot, foul to us if anything.

Throwing your head at the post is extremely dangerous and he should’ve been sent off and freekick to Liverpool

No. What the picture doesn't show is that he connects with the ball and is withdrawing his foot by the time Johnson's head came into play. Even if he did connect with Johnson, which is unclear, there would have been no force to it at all. If that's dangerous then every header is dangerous
