I'd rather we take 4th properly and get in CL. Statement of intent, and well, didn't expect it in season #1 for Ange. Prospect of better signings in the Summer too.
Virtually guaranteed to be a champions league for 5th I'd say now. So many English teams left in it compared to Germany/Italy and Man City probably favourites for Champions League and Liverpool probably favourites for Euro League.
It's very likely but because it works on the average points per side from each nation and the fact that Bayern & Leverkusen play Arsenal & West Ham, there's the possibility of it swinging back in Germany's favour during this round of fixtures. It wouldn't be a massive shock if both German sides won and if another PL side got knocked out, it would be really in the balance again.
Does that also mean 8th gets to go on tour?
I think there's potential for it, if the teams already in the european places win their respective european competitions/the FA cup. There's a mad scenario for 11 teams in europe, but it's virtually impossible given the league standings.
Most probably but it depends on who wins the FA Cup and where they finish in the League. If Chelsea or Utd (or Coventry) win the FA Cup but finish outside the top 7 then 6th qualify for the Europa and 7th the Conference League. If City win the FA Cup or Utd/Chelsea and they finish in the top 7 then 8th will get the Conference League spot.
That was my doing by saying they're basically down 15 minutes ago. I jinxed Villa too when I said that Utd had no chance of the CL the other day too.
