what a dude!

We have BEA, Sandro, King and Parker as good role models for youngsters. Bravo Spurs!

We should be getting 4th but we have been lambasted for dropping points early at home, putting in poor performances, signings not working out and AVB making defensive substitutions late on. Despite all of that we are still up there.

I actually didn't, then realised, then adjusted it to 120mil :p

But thats the thing, Liverpool massively overspent on loads of the wrong players, and failed spectacularly, importantly.... they decided to ditch a manager who was failing(and seeming lost his mind also). While that might not have been the right decision, and I know not many Liverpool fans agree because in hindsight there hasn't been instant improvement, but Rafa's last half season was attrocious, and for me the direction he was taking the squad was asking for that, and I believe Arsenal will have a minimum of 3 or 4 not good years much like LIverpool as we struggle with high wages, no CL income, and players we can't shift effecting who we can bring in, and simply not being able to rebuild the squad.

Personally I don't think any of the top teams are run well, new contract for Diaby/Rosicky when they can't stay fit for 3 games in a row, and aren't good anyway? 75k a week for Welbeck, Anderson for years doing nothing, Berbatov being wasted completely. Chelsea, Ferreira, Malouda, Kalou, not offering Drogba a new contract, and all the players Chelsea/City have bought on a whim and spent loads getting rid of.

Liverpool and Arsenal have wasted money they couldn't afford to waste though, which is the bigger problem. Its hurt LIverpool, its going to hurt them for a few years yet, they need to drop wages below that of Spurs, getting shot of guys, bringing in good deals, younger players and build for a push in a few years, building for a push now will cost a lot and could easily fail. Arsenal now need to do the same, except we were still throwing out new contracts to rubbish players in the past year........ :(

I think we have had a ridiculously hard run of games early on, a terrible set of injuries, a new system and signings that have not bedded in yet (though Siggy and Dempsey were very good in the second half today when there was some space).

AVB has steered us well despite not having Kaboul, BAE, Parker, Ade (for a long while) and Dembele for large parts of the season. He also lost Modric and VdV.

We have already gone away to Newcastle, Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal and played Chelsea at home.

Our performances have been stuttering but with some good luck and some good results I am happy to see that AVB is being given the time to work with the team, his new signings and the injured players who are coming back.

606 is filled with 'Arry lovers, hopefully AVB gets some love tonight

Shows what a couple of good wins can do. We have got some favourable fixtures over the next few weeks so should be up there.

yes they are still up there, but don't forget that Chelsea have dropped 17 points in the last 7 games, City have dropped points and so have Utd.

Its not like they've ONLY dropped 7 points, they've dropped 7 more than the others in a third of the season, over a whole season thats 20+ points off the top, not terrible but not great either.

They've done well with some potentially tricky ties, but three wins on the trot could be followed by 3 losses.

The main thing was some very poor performances, performances tell more of a story than results(usually). For instance Arsenal put in some truly terrible performances and still nicked a result, we were pushing back up to 4th, but if you watched the performances you would think we'd lose more games and drop lots of points, and we did.

I think half the league sucks this year, and a few other teams have improved, Swansea/West brom/Everton, so they have shot up the table and are doing really well, most of which will help Spurs.

I don't think Brom can maintain that kind of season and I doubt Everton can, with Arsenal/Newcastle not looking close to last years form, outside of that top 3 it leaves Spurs very little real competition.

You keep missing the fact that Spurs have not had an easy start to the season; we have been destroyed by injuries, looked nervous in a new system, lost key players, new players bedding in and lots of injuries. On top of ALL that we have been playing the tricky matches early.

One would expect a team to drop points under those conditions and play poorly. I would expect Spurs to now improve as the system becomes more settled, Dempsey/Siggy settle, injuries return (although Bale will be a huge loss if he is out for a long time) and fixtures are marginally more winnable.
