I do not get that after 5-6 years in which any time he starts through the middle up top he's terrible all of a sudden Wenger is playing him more when he's truly terrible in that position.

I can only assume that he is trying to give Giroud a rest for more important games. I mean so much of game is built around having him as the link up man, he brings Ramsey and Cazorla into the game when they work off him. I can't think of any other reason that Walcott would be starting.

Indeed, Rooney hasn't been good yet this season and hes still an automatic pick. The only way he would be on the bench instead of 1st name on the team sheet is if he was recovering from an injury.
