Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 15th January 2018]

I think we'll rotate him with Young, that seemed to be the way we were going before Young's suspension.
I think that's wishful thinking. It was only the crazy Christmas period that meant he got a look in - with fewer, more spaced out fixtures to come he'll be on FA Cup duty again. It's clear that Mourinho doesn't rate him at all.

He also doesn't rate Rojo or Darmian or Blind as full backs either - and it doesn't look like we are going to get a full back this window

(according to JM Blind even has permission to talk to other clubs)

He rates Rojo I think - Mourinho loves a horrible **** and Rojo has a bit of that in him. Surprised how Herrera's fallen completely out of favour - clearly no matter how much of a **** you are, being under 6 foot counts for more with Mourinho.

Good win, and Shaw had another great game.
I think Shaw look's fat and if he isn't fat then he's only a weekend binge away from it. I won't knock the lad for trying to fight his way back in but he is a long way from making that spot his. Last night was a decent enough performance albeit we did allow a few chances that might have been taken by a better side. Stoke won't go down from what I have seen and Lambert has potential at a club that isn't mired in takeover / lunatic owners.

I think JM (rates Rojo) as a centre back, but not as a full back.

Interesting though that he didn't choose to play him at all last night - I would say rojo is a better cb than smalling, but depends on the opposition I suppose.

Impossible to tell if the recent contract extensions for Shaw and Herrera are more to protect the club's investment or whether JM actually thinks they are good squad / 1st XI players. Wouldn't be totally surprised by both being sold in the summer given their form - but at least JM has given Shaw a bit of a chance even if its just to put him in the shop window.

Personally thought LS has done pretty well over the last 4 or 5 matches, yes he has looked a bit rusty at times, but he has also been a vast improvement going forward than majority of the other options (and its not like Young will be around for that much longer)
