Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 16th February 2016]

While I don't necessarily agree with cm, the circumstances around that game and this game are very different. Back then nobody expected Leicester to even finish in the Europa League places let alone be in with a shout for the title - the pressure was very much off back then. People are now talking about Leicester winning the League and they were within seconds of a massive result today.

You mean like how Arsenal's 5-3 win rocked us? When we went on to win just about every game since? :p

To be fair that was near the start of the season when we battered you so there was no pressure on you lot. Now the pressure is on seeing as there are 12 games left iirc.

Mind you you have some easy games coming up whereas Arsenal have got Barca, then Utd and Spurs so still some very tough games coming up for us in the next few weeks. Will be a true test to see if we come through it or not. We can't afford to drop silly points now to teams.

Had we had a better December and Jan then we would be well ahead points wise but as we all know, Arsenal are brilliant at bottling it around about this time. It makes me laugh that Wenger bangs on about this belief we have as a team, when we dropped points stupidly in Dec and Jan.

I really do hope that if Arsenal and city are out of the title race, then I'd love to see Leicester win the title...but it would be a very bitter congrats if you did as this is arsenals best chance to win the title for a very long time. But anyone to win than the Spurs as that would be unbearable in all honesty.

I'd be happy with whoever win it. I like Wenger but if he fluffs this and they keep him you might as well give up. It would be a fairy tale for Leicester and if they don't win it smr can go back to never posting about football again ;)

I don't care what they say when you have done this well it will hurt not to win it and get knocked out of the champions league in round 1.

But I too am leaning towards wanting Spurs to win it. If Spurs won it and Arsenal fluffed this great chance I still don't think they would have the balls to move on from Wenger. If he does win it he should retire on a high.

ok

a manager who has a great and refreshing mentality, who i've never seen/heard make excuses or have a 'woe is me attitude' who hasn't spent crazy money but has instead nurtured young talent, a lot of it english and who has had the balls to weed out players ( some with big egos and price tags ) who didn't buy into his philosiphy and had also had us playing some entertaining football for fans and the neutral

poch deserves the upmost respect from other fans as he is a great example of what we should be looking to attract in managerial style

i, for one, am glad spurs and leicester are in the mix and don't buy into it being a freak season more the usual suspects realising they're not untouchable and the leagues all the better for it. who in their right mind would want a league where arsenal, chelsea, city and utd are consistently the top 4 mix?

One game down and Sherwood has sided with both managers and the referee on all of the contentious decisions in the Arsenal vs Leicester game :o

Edit: More world class insight. Who can win the league? City but Arsenal, Spurs and Leicester can also win it as well. How is this genius not in charge of a European giant?

God this performance from Villa today is just appalling. Villa are down already. Their players literally haven't given a single **** since the start of the game.

fans who have stuck with the team and don't empty the stadium like the titanic going down? oh right. you're referring to internet forums a forum which you've spat your dummy out at your own team countless times and ended up getting yourself suspended? would you like a mirror?

What's it got to do with me loathing how my own club is run?

Certain nob head fans have spent the majority of their time goading other supporters and barely being a presence during their down years.
I don't spend my time trying to bait other fans and generally get suspended for calling them out for the ***** they are, I'm not well liked but I'm pretty straight and don't waste time acting a wum.

Also yeah, you'll notice I mentioned minority and defended your fan base earlier in this thread, so not really sure what you're referring to. (Have seen their stadium pretty empty while Liverpool were still banging them in though lol)

Just seen motd, gutted for Leicester.

I think any player that waves imaginary cards at the ref should automatically get booked.

Football is just crazy with the way that players can get away with influencing the ref. Any other sport they have far more respect.

Tottenham are fantastic at times this season, and totally should be seizing the chance to win the league. Poch is a fantastic manager.

I would love to see him move and be given time at Manchester United in all honesty, admired him at Southampton too.

Tottenham have to win the league this season, but they are Tottenham and their potential to 'Spurs it up' is limitless.

Sherwood is an absolutely awful pundit, it really is painful to watch. Murphy is dull as dishwater also, I think the MOTD panel needs a massive revamp.

As a Leicester fan it was obviously a disappointing set of results yesterday, but it's also made the race for the title even more interesting which is fantastic. I hope that if it's not us then Spurs will win it, purely just to see a different name on the trophy and to reward them for sticking with some younger English players.

The key for us will be how we respond to the defeat. Leicester have now played all of the other top four twice, whereas Arsenal still have to play Spurs and Man City, so that could play into our hands if we can get back on track.
