Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 16th March 2016]

It really wasn't. It was a great crowd through out the match. Both tonight and at Anfield on Thursday..

Yeh, Goodison was rocking for most of the match tonight. It's been a bit flat for a lot of games this year but tonight certainly wasn't one of them!

Did Ross Barkley do anything other than give the ball away? Because if he did I must have blinked and missed it :p

The commentators were all raving about how good he is, but he didn't seem to show much of that today.

This is already being denied by Chelsea but you can clearly see him bite and as he pulls away from Gareth Barry you can see a red mark on his neck.

Stubble rash :p

I'm not sure he did bite him or bite him hard enough to be of concern but the whole body language and movement is there in the same way raising hands to a players face isn't punching them. He's a very silly boy for putting himself in the position where it could be seen as a bite.

I don't see Costa in the premiership next year tbh, I hope whoever comes in decides he's not worth the risk for what is now a diminishing return and buys someone else of quality.

I missed the game yesterday but have just seen the incident and can't believe there's any debate about it and the lack of hysteria around it.

Setup the second goal.

There seems to be a mark on Barry's neck before Costa goes in so I'm not sure if he did actually bite him, I'm pretty sure Barry would've made the most of it if he did too.

I hope we keep as he's a brilliant player and currently the only player we have with any fight in them, not the correct type of fight sometimes but still.

We must be different standards. :p

I thought the first 10 minutes were great and the final 10 minutes were great, but to me it sounded very flat for the 70 minutes in the middle.

Meh, it looked like a bite to me - Maybe Claridge was correct in saying that Costa started to bite but realised and stopped, which is why he almost tries to cuddle Barry afterwards - I would have expected the media to be making more of it, well the BBC, but maybe the only have a sense of outrage over certain players/clubs or that Costa's behaviour is so poor people are no longer shocked by his actions.

Watching MOTD2 Extra and they're all taking a pretty pro Costa stance, don't understand the general leniency towards Costa tbh

It is funny when everyone harps on about his 'edge' (or behaving like a ****) helps his game, when actually his best form has come recently when he has not being behaving that way and has actually been concentrating on his football.

I would be surprised if Chelsea put up with him next season.

Yeah, it looked obvious to me, although I haven't looked into it much. I just saw it happen, then the replay once where I'm sure I saw a mark. It'd be difficult to prove beyond reasonable doubt, but imo he probably did it... and that's all they need, right? To prove it on the balance of probabilities. Although, like you say, there doesn't seem to be the hysteria, so maybe it'll just blow over :\.

Yea, probably is enough for the FA but as I've always said, they'll only act when there's a big fuss made in the media.
