As for Rooney and Aguero, they are both very different players, and both are extremely good.
As I think DM has mentioned previously (not in this thread), Rooney was previously a much more explosive/unpredictable striker and he's really lost that 'dangerous' edge and tries to play as a midfielder and a striker at the same time.
I think he's reasonably effective doing this, but I don't really like it. As for the notion that Rooney is your run of the mill average player, I don't agree, utter nonsense.
That said, he's been dreadful for the past couple of games (despite scoring twice
).
