Has anyone actually made a serious threat at goal yet? I don't recall either keeper making a save.

They showed a replay from the ref's angle(give or take) and it really doesn't look like Kos touched the ball from that angle, so from what you see from the ref's angle(no touch by Kos, Gabby running, Kos taking him down, ball still going in the path Gabby was running) it was a clear penalty.

Kos took out Gabby before the ball was even played, go back and watch it in slow motion, or on MOTD. As Shearer said, Kos knee hits Gabbys leg before he gets his foot on the ball.
 
Give it time, Spurs will get good together and aren't Spurs notorious for leaving the goals to like the last 10 mins of the game to get a win, even with Bale.

Palace's defending has been good so far as well.
