Makes me feel a lot easier, but this is still atrocious. They have 10 men! Control possession, slow the game down and it takes all the threat of Stead away. We look so frail at the back its actually funny.

Up till the own goal Sunderland played well. After that southampton started to press higher and seemed to punish every mistake.

As a southampton fan it is easy to get carried away with the result but to be fair the only team we have played that has looked a lot better than us is swansea but due to bony getting sent of we won that match.

Considering the rather unusual way some of the goals were conceded by Sunderland I hope the relevant football authorities are monitoring betting patterns from yesterdays match. I know people make mistakes but some of the goal keeping and defending get my conspiracy senses twitching.

I thought the same tbh Cold Fusion it only takes 2-3 key players to be involved to lose a game 8-0 at this level.

Considering Sunderland lost to QPR though I think it might just be a case that they truly are ****.

Just listening to Wenger's post match interview and he seems to be losing his head big time. :D

LFC Team: Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Toure, Enrique, Gerrard, Can, Sterling, Henderson, Lallana, Balotelli.

Looks like a 4-2-3-1 again with Gerrard and Can playing alongside each other, brilliant. We also appear to be resting the aging fullbacks Moreno and Manquillo but not the youthful Gerrard :o

Need a big win to get things back on track, a loss heading in to the Madrid game would only really serve to lube us up for the hammering coming our way.

You're a miserable ****er sometimes Pigeon. Given that Moreno isn't even in the squad, I think it's far more likely that he's injured rather than being rested. I wouldn't have any issues with Johnson over Manquillo anyway but without Moreno it makes even more sense. You need at least 1 attacking fullback and while Manquillo does his bit going forward but that's not what he bases his game on.

Don't be surprised to see Gerrard off Balotelli with Henderson deeper if we do go with a 4-2-3-1 too.

McCarthy, Isla, Onuoha, Dunne, Caulker, Suk-Young, Henry, Fer, Sandro, Austin, Zamora.

Ferdinand dropped for QPR. About time.
