Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [17th - 23rd January 2020]

VAR allows the FA to do what F1 does, make decisions purely for the entertainment factor, in this case to keep the contest alive. It would have been more or less game over at 2-0.

Just lol at that being given as a foul, may as well just say any contact with a goalkeeper is a foul if we're giving that, absolutely pathetic

So basically one cannot challenge goalies under any circumstances. Never a foul.

Irrelevant though as Liverpool are clearly going to waltz this one.

Probably

Seems to be an unwritten rule that if a goalkeeper and an opposing player jump for the ball and the goalie doesn't get it then it's a foul against them.

Bizarre.

If they were both trying to kick the ball and VVD knocked away De Gea's leg whilst trying and failing to kick the ball it would be a foul.

In this instance, De Gea can use his arms and VVD can't - VVD knocked away one of De Gea's arms whilst jumping and impeded De Gea from catching the ball. That's a foul.

Van Dijk has just as much right to go for that as De Gea. Thats soft...and to overturn it suggests the ref didnt see it which is just bizarre.

Oh and its no use crying to the ref when you had the chance to clear it ffs

I'll have to watch the halftime replays to see it clearly. Will be interesting to see what the studio panels opinions are.

Annoyed as should be 2-0 if it wasn't for consistently inconsistent ******** of VAR.

Over all we had better half besides 10 minute spell from utd we were better than them.
