I assume there's been an injury concern over Cleverley recently given he wasn't involved at all against Fulham and was only on the bench last night, hope he's back at the weekend though, only saw the highlights of last nights game but seems Anderson didn't really do his cause any good. Team for Saturday...

---------------De Gea---------------
Rafael---Ferdinand---Vidic---Evra
Nani---Carrick---Cleverley---Kagawa
---------------Rooney
----------------RVP

Subs: Lindegaard, Jones, Smalling, Giggs, Valencia, Hernandez, Welbeck

I genuinely have no idea how Newcastle will show this weekend. First half against Villa I thought we were back to last seasons form, but a bit stronger with Sissoko. But second half Pardew went negative and defensive.

I can't see any changes to the team until Tiote and Ben Arfa come back. If Marveaux was fit I'd play him ahead of Gutierrez, he offers nothing going forward, gives the ball away too much, and constantly fouls in dangerous areas. Either Marveaux or Anita for him:

Krul
Debuchy - Taylor/Mbiwa - Colo - Santon
Cabaye - Perch - Sissoko
Gouffran - Cisse - Marveaux

Subs: Harper, Mbiwa/Taylor, Guti, Sh Ameobi, Sa Ameobi/Oba, Bigi, Anita

All time must wins of must wins!

So long as we play like we did second half against United, drop Fox down a hole and give up with Jos the boss (of no one) Hooiveld we should win.

Plus its our first trip away to Wigan for a league game and I cannot wait! We wont have sold out but should get decent support up there for cheap drinks and one of the cheapest saturday tickets of the season (£20!)

Indeed! Our record against those teams around us is pretty good (bar a few results) and as long as this continues we should be ok.

Starting with Shaw and Lallana we should win, but i'm worried about our lack of options from the bench, something i thought we would sort in the window.

Yeah other than Wigan at home we've done really well against the teams towards the bottom. Keep beating them and pick up a few good points against better teams and we'll be fine.

Not fussed about the options on the bench front, we got rid of Shteeve which is pretty much the best thing possible as he is useless! Barring horrible injuries the new guy has shown we can just change the system a bit for who we have at the club instead of force them to play roles they aren't good at. Guly was the best one against Everton (same for Steven Davis against United), abandon the need for wing play, let the full backs go there and get players who are good as attacking midfielders playing there.

Keep that sort of approach to the players we have and we should be fine.

Must win for Arsenal, Stoke have only won once away in 21 games i heard on the radio.

Yep cant afford to drop anymore points if we want CL footie next season, we are 3 pts behind Everton and 4 behind Spurs at the moment. So we need a favour from the teams playing Everton and Spurs, hopefully both losing and with a win we can get back into the top4.

Although saying that, we are playing Stoke who like to play rough so i imagine a few of our players will be taken out by the dirty Stoke players :/

Hopefully our new boy at LB Monreal will have a positive impact unless Wenger isnt playing him just yet.

Meh knowing us and how defensively poor we are, i can see us conceding a goal or 2 but i imagine we will still beat Stoke...fingers crossed.

If we get a pen on Saturday Rooney won't be taking it, he's requested RVP take them from now on

Wayne Rooney has revealed it was his decision – not Sir Alex Ferguson’s – to stop taking Manchester United’s penalties.

The striker told MUTV he met with the Reds boss following his FA Cup third round replay miss against West Ham to inform the manager he wished to pass spot-kick duties to Robin van Persie.

Rooney, who’s missed nine of the 28 penalties he’s taken in a United shirt since his arrival from Everton in 2004, acknowledged his recent record wasn’t good enough. Seven of those misses have come since the start of 2010, including two – against West Ham and Arsenal – this season.

“To be honest, it was my choice,” Rooney revealed when asked if he was disappointed to have been relieved of penalty duties.

“It wasn't good enough. I went in to speak with the manager and said I'd spoken with Robin [van Persie] and told him he could take them.

“At a club like this, to miss two penalties like I did and not hit the target, it wasn't good enough.”

I've heard Cech is fit but Mata is not
Interesting. In the Fantasy Football, Mata has gone from doubtful to fit to play. Doesn't me he will of course, but if you look at the Chelsea midfield, the isn't a lot of cover at the moment so I guess there is more chance he'll play if he's feeling ok.

Don't fancy out chances today but all we can do is give it a go, that and pray Pardèú doesn't think he is some tactical defence genius again :(
