Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2 - 3rd February 2013]

Martin Tyler referred to Suarez And Sturridge as the new SAS, should be SBS more like, the amount of scuba gear they're gonna get through.

Thought Liverpool were excellent. They controlled the possession with some nice passing. Dominated in my opinion. City never got into the game at all which was surprising (thought they would up their game 2nd half).

However.... couple of liverpool players just need to get shot of sharpish!

Johnson.....wtf i dont know how many times he has been asleep at the wheel...i dont know what position he thinks he is playing but it isnt RB.

Downing....despite all his little twists and turns he did nothing argh. Just a waste giving him the ball out there....

i think Liverpool had 21 attempts on target and around 56% possession ....shouldve been 3 points but no Reina i guess is either completely stupid or had liv v man city down as a score draw on his betting card....

^ didnt expect this before the match, that's for certain.

Before the Arsenal game I didn't expect us to pick anything up from either games, now I am disappointed we did not get at least 4 points from 6 :( Though it does show you are game is coming on and the managers style of play is working.

I've just had a look at ours, Arsenal's, Everton's and Spurs' remaining games or more precisely, the remaining games against sides 7th and above.

Liverpool - Spurs, Chelsea and Everton all at home.
Arsenal - Spurs away, Everton and Utd at home.
Everton - Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea away and City at home.
Spurs - Arsenal, Everton and City at home and Liverpool and Chelsea away.

I know it's meaningless and everybody will drop points elsewhere but looking at that, Arsenal have got to be favourites for 4th and Everton will be lucky to avoid relegation.

Hahaha, but this is Liverpool, you would do better if you had more games against the top 6/7. It's the **** teams you will drop points against :p

Where have all the Hyenas gone from when you signed Sturridge? :D

Except this year, we are stomping bottom half teams and not beating top half teams.

He was excellent yesterday and has probably been our second best player behind Suarez this season. We need to look at the keeper, left back and both centre back positions before we even consider Johnson's future at right back and as far as I'm concerned it's not a problem position anyway.

Glen Johnson? Serious? no troll?

He was poor. Maybe you think he was good because he made some intervention tackles or blocked a cross but there was loads of times he was out of position and consequently scrambles to make a tackle that makes up for his poor positioning. A lot of the time someone else like Gerrard had to fill the gap. He was forward too much as well. He's too much of a loose cannon imo....

Johnson is one of only a few things me and Pigeon agree on. He's been excellent for us for the last couple of years and the criticism he gets seems to be based on his performances from 5 years ago. He's an attacking full back, playing in a side that encourages its full backs to push forward so of course he's going to be caught upfield on occasions and its the job of the midfiled to cover.

Quite a few picked up on this straight away but it's something else seeing them side by side
