Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [20th March - 24th March 2015]

We are 2 points behind City. That is absolutely ridiculous.

With City's away form currently (in fact form in general) , Utd have shown enough guile and muscle in the last few games to beat City at OT in three weeks time

..............saying that , Valencia and blind were both left for dust enough times today to show how weak our defence is and Villa with their recent upsurge in form could easily get an away win in the next pl fixture (and less said about Jones the better) :(

Hint to AW - according to stats , if you win the first half vs Liverpool in your next game, you will win the game. Liverpool have gone on to lose every game this season they have trailed in at half-time.

You know we have only conceded more goals than Chelsea & Southampton, right?

That's the third best defence in the league. One that everyone moans about every, single, game.

Only thanks to De Gea's brilliance most of the time - our defenders in front of him have been terrible and conceeded stupid free kicks (and generally fallen apart) on numerous occasions per game

One of these days we could easily be punished

What a donkey, give Falcao a chance to score of Mata the chance of a hat-trick..... no let Shrek, who has been terrible, attempt to gain some glory out of another crap performance.

The fact that Rooney is the team's penalty taker obviously alluded your brain (not to mention as if Falcao is more likely to score..........)

A good indication of how low the standards have been falling in recent years but fans will put up with dire football if the results still come.

Interesting, do you think though the lack of confidence in those defenders has made everyone else more conservative and play deeper or they are just not as bad as the people moaning think?

I think that when you are playing alright/well and winning, people don't give a monkeys about your defending unless it's criminally bad. Because we haven't been playing that well and scraping wins, our team is under the microscope, especially our defence. The media always have their flavour of the month / season and united have been rich pickings since Ferguson left.

We haven't got a stellar defence but it's had to be chopped and changed a lot this season and considering that and the lack of experienced leader so don't think they are doing so badly.

Martin Skrtel: FA to assess clash with Man Utd's David De Gea

The Football Association is to review an incident involving Liverpool's Martin Skrtel towards the end of their 2-1 defeat by Manchester United.

The Slovakian defender, 30, appeared to tread on United goalkeeper David De Gea during injury time at Anfield.

The FA says it is "looking at the incident", which prompted angry exchanges between the two players.

It is waiting to find out if referee Martin Atkinson saw what sparked the clash, which continued after full time.
