Torres would surely have scored by now if he'd have got better service. Also Sturridge seems to have let his inclusion into the starting XI go to his head. Greedy.
Tosh really,
off the top of my head, barely watching the game, there was a sturridge cross that Torres ran in for, but ran late and got the wrong side of the keeper. Problem was, he ran towards the back four then slowed down, had he both not slowed down and run to the other side of the keeper he would have made it and would have been a tap in(that he could still have missed). But he made the wrong run wrong side of the keeper, cross was fine, it couldn't have gone anywhere else.
The other one I can remember is that little left foot toe poke towards the corner. But he was one on one with the defender moving quite fast and didn't get his touch right then didn't seem to want to beat the defender. Old Torres would have tried to blast past him either side, then shot powerfully. It might have looked close but if it was sneaking in, it was slow and VERY easily saved.
As for Sturridge being greedy, maybe, letting being first team go to his head, shows you don't know what you're talking about, its that very quality which he has had since before he left City, that makes him a good striker, and made Torres a good striker.
A very good striker is never afraid to miss and makes the keeper and defence worried by not waiting for the "perfect" opportunity. The opposite of what your saying is Arsenal at their worst, afraid to shoot for fear of missing, passing responsibility never taking the shot and making it easier for the defence.
The more Sturridge shoots the more the defence is off balance, the more they are rushing out to block the more space is made.
