Re: Liverpool
Liverpool have lost their 2 best players of last year (Sturridge/Suarez).
Is it any surprise that Liverpool are playing badly as a result?
Personally, I would never have let him go. Or at least try and persuade him to stay for 1 year, before he gets his dream move to Spain. I remember Fergie made this deal with Ronaldo and got him to stay for 1 extra year.
Realistically only the brain dead would expect us to sell Suarez and replace him with an equally good player. A lot of Liverpool supporters would probably disagree but he's been the best Liverpool player I've ever seen play for us and by quite a margin so for me he's irreplaceable unless we had the pulling power and money to get a Ronaldo or Messi which we don't and didn't.
What you are talking about is ambition.
A few years ago Man City showed great ambition by getting the staff in to compete for the title.
From you are saying, Liverpool no longer have the ambition to win. Their supporters dont believe that they have the right to have a top player playing in their team. If Liverpool do have ambition, the moment Suarez's sale was announced, BR should've hunted down a marquee player.
Unfortunately for him, he bought a lot of cheap players, so he no longer has the funds to get a top class player and must make do with what he has.
Do I think Liverpool bought wisely.
Nope. And you are seeing the results of a poor transfer window which prove this. Anybody who thinks that Liverpool bought/sold wisely needs their head examined. They are lying in 12th place. I dont need to elaborate further.
With regards to BR being sacked - this is extremely premature and probably a knee-jerk reaction, rather than an intelligently thought out suggestion.
Liverpool are 5 points away from 4th place, so they are still in the hunt for a top 4 position this year. I think Liverpool will finish 5th, providing they get Sturridge back soon.
