Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [22nd - 28th December 2017]

Gerrard wasn’t the vocal one, that was Carragher. Neville was bang on last night, these defenders just have to go...keep Klavan as a back up by all means but we need to be looking at a new back line.

Not saying he was the vocal one but he had something about him that meant team mates would rarely slack off around him, not to the levels of the current shambles anyway.

At the minute the team just seems to be a bunch of individuals massively apart in ability and all of the top players are at one side of the pitch and nobody wants to take responsibility, I wonder if Klopp is pushing for that as well as he himself avoids the difficult conversations.

Sadly the defenders by and large have the ability outside of moments of complete lapses in concentration (although maybe that is the majority of the ability required for a defender?). I like Mignolet's attitude and he's pretty good on penalties, but honestly can't have a keeper costing you >10 pts a season.

Carragher in this team wouldn't make a difference, probably try and fight Lovren whilst making his own dumb mistakes, he would without a doubt get exposed hugely in our style of play.

Alli lucky to be on the pitch. Should have been off last week and arguably another red today. Ofcourse the FA will just ignore that.

If that was red today we should just all pack up:rolleyes: Football is a contact sport which is hard to believe if you watch football over the last few years.

Disagree, its arguably a red for the tackle and a yellow for the wonderful swan dive so you know...

Edit.

You cant go in for a tackle with both feet off the ground in a scissor motion with that force. Its a red

From behind Alli camera angle it looks bad but when you see it from the front of Alli you can see no malice and not even going in on the player it looked like he was just putting his foot where the ball was going to go.

There might not have been any malice, im sure he didn't want to try and break De Bruynes leg last week either but it doesnt make it any less of a red. IMO he's got lucky and I think he's lucky with the pen as well. The FA have to look into that...you cant be banning Niasse and not Alli.

I can post this video right ? Just in case anyone hasnt seen it, forums very quiet these days, be nice to create a debate lol.

Genuine question do you know the rules of the game?
