Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 25th August 2019]

I dunno, they play some decent footy, defence a bit flakey but then so is arsenal's.
The difference is you could probably guarantee that Auba and Laca will score 30 goals between them this season, you can't say the same about Giroud and Abraham. If Pepe can replicate even close to his goal return as he got for Lille then you'll fancy Arsenal to score their way into the top 4 even if their defence is ****. Spurs should take 3rd - despite how their league campaign ended last season they were comfortably the 3rd best side last season. The only hope the other sides have is if Eriksen does leave before the window closes and or Kane picks up injuries throughout the season again because they could be left lacking in attack.

It's far too early to write Utd off but the concern for them is De Gea's form and how hit and miss the likes of Martial, Rashford and Pogba are. If De Gea remembers how to catch the ball again and they can build a bit of confidence you can see them stringing together wins like they did last December/January.

Utd undoubtedly have the most question marks about them and while you're right about Arsenal, there's enough **** teams in the League that if their attack produces then they'll outscore enough sides.

I never thought I'd say it but we miss Bellerin. His attacking ways and pace put the opposing teams left sided players on the back foot. I'm hoping when him and the Celtic lad are in the team things will get a lot better.
Yea i agree.

October they are looking to come back.

Arsenal;s midfield is not that far behind liverpools and city IMO . Its our Defence that at times, is not even premier league level

Had this discussion in the office earlier. If he had stayed on his feet, he gets wiped out and wins a stonewall penalty. His little knee bend to his left made it an unnatural fall so the only question is, why wasn't he carded?

I think he's anticipating Lascelles staying on his feet so he's leaning to his left to hold him off, then Lascelles goes down and Kane goes over him. I don't think Kane dived personally, but I also don't think it was a pen. The David Silva one was an absolute stonewall penalty though, that's the kind of thing VAR should be giving.

Had Kane not have history for stepping into defenders to create contact then that would be a reasonable enough argument. The fact that Kane's stepped across into Lascelles creates some doubt and is why the pen probably wasn't given to begin with and what makes it impossible for VAR to overturn. Equally there's enough doubt over whether it was a dive or not, to mean he wasn't booked.
