Same as the issues Aston Villa face. You can't have 0 investment (in our case worse, downright asset stripping to service debt :/) for that many years and turn it around without many years and lots of investment.

Rodgers has to take some of the blame for this. Our biggest problem is the lack of goals, which he can't be held accountable for, but playing Downing at left back and continuing with underperforming players such as Gerrard and Allen is really hurting him. Hopefully we'll see Assaidi on for Downing so we can move Enrique back in to defence and Suso/Shelvey on for any of the central midfielders.
Long term, give the armband to Reina, Skrtel, Agger or Lucas and put Gerrard out to pasture, send Downing back to Villa under the distance selling act and sell Cole at any Supermarket that takes second hand goods.

Better then the coms I'm having to suffer with.
Bale is young enough to develop into the next Ronaldo, he's already almost at his level, apparently.
He isnt a CM no but his shooting accuracy has clearly fallen and his pace isnt there for playing off the striker like he did with Torres so i can see why he has been pushed back.
Last season we did well was 08-09 since then just gotten worse each year

But who else do you play? Sahin has hardly set our team alight, maybe replace Gerrard with Shelvey sure. There is only so much he can do with this team, it was never going to be fixed within one window. Last summer, spending wise, set us back atleast a season. Our squad is paper thin as well, need investment!
Maybe he hasnt but Sahin is still considerably better than Henderson at the moment
Yeah, if your playing like our 08-09 team did, then Gerrard isn't suited. But we've spent loads of time in control and pushed up, Gerrard should be dropping into the space Suarez is tbh.

Henderson isn't the one that needs replacing, its Gerrard and Allen, Gerrard has been shocking all season, Allen has been poor for 2-3weeks now.

I don't think he'll drop Gerrard so I would play Sterling, Suarez and Gerrard as the front 3 with Suso in behind them and any two of Allen/Sahin/Shelvey/Henderson until Lucas is back.
Gerrard's shooting is getting progressively worse due to playing further back. Only have to see games like Napoli for his great finishing, or Newcastle last year. Get him a string of games where he can play in that hole and just get the ball into him and Suarez and at least see if it works.

Tell you what, Rodger's certainly won't have a hard decision to make for who to use Lucas to replace, he is spoilt for choice!
I was pointing it out in general, And imo he does, Suso should be playing id play them how PK just said in honesty

Actually, if he's going to try Enrique as one of the front 3 why not push Johnson up and play Wisdom as the defender when he's back?
