Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 29th September 2015]

Good result for Southampton today, Swansea didn't get much of a look in bar the numerous times the ref gave them free kicks for absolutely nothing at all. First time I've heard proper anti referee chanting at St Mary's

Not going to complain, enjoyed a game of football for the first time in a long time, awesome stuff from Studge/Milner/Ings/Couts

So surprised how much I like Ings

'Suarez lite' is the best description of Ings I think, so good to see Sturridge back and firing, his 1st was a beaut.

All in all we played pretty well but we continue to concede soft goals. Sakho's lucky Lovren's injured because after that performance he couldn't have much complaints if he was left out again. I've no idea what he was thinking for the first goal - granted Lucas should have done better to stop the cross and Can should have tracked his man but he's just got to clear it at the near post but seems to step out the way and allow it past. And he's got to be stronger in the air - he was beaten far too easily for their 2nd and twice Richard's beat him far too easily at corners, nearly resulting in goals for Villa.

Rodgers fate and the sides as a whole rests on Sturridge's fitness. You could tell today he's still not nearly 100% fit but he still showed his class with both his goals and was really unlucky not to get his hattrick thanks to a great Guzan save.

Just saw the Man City v Spurs goals, few iffy offside decisions there!

Good finish by Kane on his goal though, nice to see him get off the mark.

That's the trouble with your teams football it's a game of extremes, I have never seen a team that go from both ends of the spectrum in the same match as bad as Liverpool do

Rooney first league goal of the season? Along with the others. I thought none of them had scored til today in the EPL.

West Ham got gifted that point at the end, bet Alex Neil won't be too happy about that! Still, a point on the road isn't to be sniffed at; yellows!
