Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26th - 28th December 2016]

mike 'yiddo' dean innit

though tbf he was sticking to the rules, if he hadn't have been heckling alli, there's a strong chance he'd have scored and he was last man

Doesnt matter if hes last man.

By that i mean if hes trying to get to the ball like he was it isnt a red. Its a poor decision and has decided the game imo

he wasn't trying to get the ball, he had no opportunity to get the ball so he dragged the player down. it was stupid of him

If Dean has decided that he pulled him back then it's a red card under the new rule for DOGSO - the pull was outside the box, but incident carried into the area, still a red, but harsh decision.

"Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned unless:

1) The offence is holding, pulling or pushing or
2) The offending player does not attempt to play the ball or there is no possibility for the player making the challenge to play the ball or
3) The offence is one which is punishable by a red card wherever it occurs on the field of play (e.g. serious foul play, violent conduct etc.)

In all the above circumstances the player is sent off."
