Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th April - 2nd May 2012]

Last day of the Championship with the final game at home agaisnt champions Reading. Should be a decent game with 4000 Reading fans turning up and hopefully a positive result for us even though we have already secured a place in the playoffs.

On the topic of playoffs I don't really mind playing the 1st or 2nd leg at home as long as we've still in it going into the 2nd leg. I believe Chris Hughton prefers the 2nd leg to be at home. Hopefully we won't pick up any stupid injuries agaisnt Reading, and here's hoping for a successful push back to the PL.

Almost everyone in the football league wants brum to succeed through the playoffs! Hughton is the right man for the job and it'd be very funny to see west ham stay down....

Had readings trip to brum as their hardest game left as you guys were very difficult to play against (especially in the snow)

Hughton is a great manager and all the fans up here still love him. We have went on to better things but we all still think he was treated harshly and I can only hope he does well.

Come on Brum! :p

Are you **** :p

:p

Of course I'm a neutral, many times in the past I've been accused of being a closet United fan for wanting them to win the league at certain times/circumstances.

The only reason I want City to win the league this time is I like Aguero and I want to hear all the whinging on 606 and everywhere else about city buying a title from united fans when they did the exact same thing for years, used spending to lure players from other clubs.

Almost as comical as Fergies comments last week about being a club that brings through young players as opposed to cities way. He's still living off what he did 20 years ago! How many players are in the united starting 11 that came from the youth team? How many in the last 10 years that didn't come from that batch of Giggs Scholes Neville Butt and Beckham?

The figures may be much higher but Fergie did exactly the same thing as City.

Not that I deny the great job he's done domestically with the squad he has had the last 2 or 3 years :)

I'd hardly say his mind games are getting under my skin. He's just been saying the same thing over and over again, which was fine when they were 8 points behind, but now it's just ridiculous. One More Solo has got it bang on. Now if City win they have to fancy themselves, but instead Mancini doesn't publicly back his team. It's like he's just been told what "mind games" are and now it's his favourite thing, but it's obvious what he's trying to do.
