Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th April - 2nd May 2012]

This random season of weird results has ended up in a great finish :)

Bit of pressure on Arsenal now, they should win against Norwich but West Brom as the last game could be a potential banana skin but the same applies to Spurs-Fulham tbh (I'm assuming Spurs will beat Villa as the latter are rubbish right now :p). All about that 3pm KO on Sunday 13th May!

Although Chelsea winning the CL would make it all pretty lulzworthy :p

If City do not win at St James Park and United STILL screw it up then quite frankly, we don't deserve it all.

I will be fuming if this happens :p

Wow at Cisse's first goal

Seriously I'll be amazed if they're aren't offers for him in the summer even this early into his Newcastle career

Great game, Newcastle by far the better team till Tiote got "injured", personally I think that was blatant retribution for the foul by Tiote on Mikel right before it, which wasn't much of anything. Bad replays of the Tiote foul, I think he catches him a bit in the chest, not much in it, then minutes later Mikel goes for a ball and throws an elbow at Tiote who was off the floor with no way to avoid it, looked nasty and for me on purpose, should have been a red.

Chelsea were the better side for much of the second half with Newcastle doing a bit of "we've got the goal, lets sit back for no apparent reason" and let Chelsea back into the game. Stunning second goal though, stunning.

As for goal of the season, Suarez's wasn't even that special, Crouch's was insanely better than Suarez's and Cisse's is close, though somehow it feels more, intentional. IE Crouch is a bit rubbish and got a fluke goal Cisse has just scored fantastic strike after fantastic strike. The importance of the goal as well, Crouch's wasn't a winner, Cisse killed the game off, think it has to go to Cisse.

Spurs and Newcastle a point behind Arsenal :/..was hoping that both would draw as that would have been the best result for Arsenal.

Pressure now on Arsenal to beat Norwich as i can see Spurs beating Villa and Newcastle, as good as they are unlikely to beat City.

Arsenal dropping points in the past few weeks ie against Chelsea and Stoke hasnt helped matters much.

Still expect Arsenal to beat Norwich and WBA the following weekend...fingers crossed:p

Go on Newcastle and Spurs, you two can fight it out for 4th place, but remember it won't be long until your CL dreams are shattered when Chelsea win in Munich.

Is there not rules about switching clubs in the prem in such a short space of time, or am I mixing up loan moves?

Pretty sure that only applies to x amount of moves in one season. I dont actually think Cisse will leave Newcastle but I'd be surprised if there wont be interest.

EDIT: Is Holden still injured from Evans tackle on him? Feel really bad for him if it is. Great scenes involving Muamba before the game.

Yep. It'll be a miracle if they survive this year after losing Holden and Lee in the summer then Gardner and Muamba later in the season. Add those injuries to losing Sturridge when he went back to Chelsea from his loan as well as Cahill and Elmander and they've had a very tough season.

Edit: Just looked at the Physio Room injury league table and forgot about Mears. Signed on the 29th of July and broke his leg on the 4th August :o

Well I was very wrong about the Newcastle game tonight. Fair play to them, going to Stamford Bridge and getting a result with the way Chelsea have been playing is very impressive, especially after Newcastle were outplayed by Wigan at the weekend. I just hope it's a similar result at the weekend, come on Newcastle!!
