Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th Sept - 3rd Oct 2012]

I'd personally like to see Assaidi play alongside Sterling and Suarez. He looked fantastic midweek and managed to tear the fullback to pieces with his pace and skill.

Poor game that imo, I really dont know where goals are going to come from in this Arsenal side (or Chelsea's for that matter)

I don't think Chelsea played well, more a case of Arsenal playing poorly for long periods.

Sky heaping on the praise of Chelsea. Literally must have watched a different game.

Shocking performance from both teams. Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Santi, Ramsey, AOC, Podolski's were all appauling for the most part. Giving the ball away pathetically easy, weak ass passing, weak ass shooting, weak on the ball, just weak.

I was honestly at a loss as to who I would give man of the match to, everyone was dire. Arsenal's defence has massively improved say the pundits and commentary team, then Arsenal give away some crap goals and the commentator is all of a sudden saying Bould was embarrassed of the praise because he essentially said, wait till we beat someone good first.... same mistakes, same problems, same weaknesses, identical to last season. We can't take or defend a set piece, full stop, haven't been able to for years and exactly nothing has changed under Bould, same stupid freekicks, same Gibbs who can't defend nor cross to save his life.

Jenks dive was embarrassing, as was Gervinho's "I'll kick the ball into the box and in a completely different direction just run into Luiz(i think) and ask for a freekick/penalty", Gervinho outside of his shot, was woeful. Jenks wasn't too bad on the wing and put in some good passes and crosses but ultimately came to nothing. AOC got basically two passes right all game, one for the goal and one at the end for Giroud. Ramsey doesn't even come close to having the pace to play on the wing and I can only wonder if we've already seen his one great game for the year, no consistency from him to date and only the very rare excellent game with far too many awful ones in with the average games he has.

Podolski, worryingly the second or third game in a row where he's been almost completely annonymous, Santi, not as annonymous but certainly not been anywhere near his best in the last couple games either.

Then we have Diaby... that's his second injury so far this season... and he was completely crap before he got injured, and he was completely crap in all but the Liverpool game where he was only just ok.

I might not be the first to notice this.... but you never seem to have anything positive to say about anything.

Why so pessemistic?

Name something about that performance to be positive about? That was a performance without positives.... okay I tell a lie, thank god Chelsea were also awful or we'd have been completely hammered.... does that count?

I'm positive a lot, people, including you apparently, choose to ignore it. I was positive about Podolski's signing, I've been positive about Jenks since he signed and raved about his performances in the past few weeks. I like Santi, but can't say he had a good game when he didn't.

We were attrocious today, that is the start and end of it. We were great against Southampton, or most of the team were. Lots of people were very good against Coventry.
