Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 4th January 2017]

No you said incredible...the "incredible" decisions in that game were the red card and that offside goal.

A deliberate handball to stop a goalscoring chance not being a card
A player leaving the ground and lunging in over the ball not being a card

I'd say those were pretty incredible.

majority of "card " decisions were wrong , sending off possibly deserved a yellow but Payet / Darmian and even arguably Valencia's for pretty inconcequential fouls , Kouyate not being sent off for a very nasty tackle on Mkhi and Reid not gettng a yellow for blatant hand ball just proved how much of a bad game Dean was having.

On balance Man Utd probably deserved it - Pogba missing both posts fractionally, Herrera not catching his shot just right, Lingard's hiting the post from a yard when it was far easier to score probably balancing out Antonio 's 1-on-1 with De Gea (not sure the header was ever going to be on target from that corner) and the one other save that De Gea had to make high up to his left probably balance everything else out.

Vital 3 points esp considering Liverpool's draw and they are up next in the PL ( albeit two games for each side before that) , just glad Man Utd are keeping pressure on 2-5 in the table even if the actual table position hasnt changed.

Mourinho deserves a lot of credit for today, was aprehensive seeing Fellaini warming up at 1/2 time but JM got it spot on today at the right times - a major change for the good from the first couple of months of the season.

Liverpool at home and Stoke away (both potentially awkward to say the least) before another little run of very winnable games......depending on injuries of course. Team is looking so much better than 6-8 weeks ago , really have a good chance of pressuriing City / Arsenal / Spurs especially in the next month or so with a long run of top 6 vs top 6 games over that period every fixture

But you have had the same if not more advantageous decisions in your direction, chiefly with respect to not getting players red carded
Herrera was also sent off earlier in the season for two yellow cards when he pulled out fo the 2nd challange completely

Swings and roundabouts - today was just a bit of payback

West Ham should have still been down to ten men well before the end either way, and in a more crucial position from Man Utd's attacking point of view - so if anything the early red card worked against Man Utd ( not sure the player actually sent off was that big a miss, he isnt exactly a Payet or even a Carroll )

Seriously implying that being down to ten men is advantageous for nearly the whole match lmao.

Also what happened after that first red is entirely irrelevant game wouldn't have played out exactly the same.

manu will be above us come mid February at the latest I imagine, we're just about ready to implode to be honest and the money signings finally performing to a decent level despite ****coat failing miserably

And someone who doesn't like United (and you look like you don't) is not biased? :p

Some people do seem to only speak negatively towards Utd. Not just on here either.

I'm surprised people hate Utd more than Chelsea, especially if the deep down issue is "buying the league title", based on history.

Glad we got the win in the end. It was a weird game, largely affected by yet more questionable officiating, but at least we were on the right end of it this time.

compared to losing a defender, yeah a winger /forward wont make that much difference (to the other side) - not to mention WHU had 10 men behind the ball for majority of the match after that

There were clearly bad decisions for both sides, but would have a lot more sympathy for WHU had they actually scored one or more of their very decent chances, at the end of the day the 2nd goal (clearly offside but made up for the decision vs 'borough) made no difference to the result

Slightly bias source :p

In tonight's game you had 2 decisions go your way, with their player being sent off and Ibra goal not being disallowed for offside...

True, just goes to show current match officiating is a joke.. at least it's getting the publicity but that needs to be taken to the next level now.

Oh dear Bellerin what the **** were u doing there??

Bournemouth 1-0 up, that extra day off does help I guess lol.

Oh ffs Xhaka gives them a penalty.

Another loss coming up by the looks of it.

Pathetic as usual Arsenal

2-0.

It's stupid **** like this that kills our season, stupid idiotic defending by us.

Infuriating to say the least. We don't look like scoring anytime soon.

Not surprised to see Bournemouth winning, for some reason I just had a feeling they would be :D

Maybe to do with a picture I saw earlier about their rise from the depths of league two.. thanks to Howe

We look so slow, tired and absolutely have no ideas as to what to do. It's like we are just letting Bournemouth win this game.

Absolutely pathetic first half from us, one of the worst I've seen from us. Our defenders just watching Bournemouth play football while they sit and scratch their backsides lol.
