Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3 - 5th November 2012]

Another loss for us, cant see us getting anything from the Utd game. I just hope we dont get hammered like we did last yr:p.

If we do somehow miraculously manage a result ie a draw or a win then beat me silly with a feather:p.

Reckon we will lose 4-1 or something silly like that.

Overly pessimistic I think. We're fairly poor defensively and you have players like Cazorla and Podolski who can expose that. It certainly wont be anything like last season, I think it will be a close game and if there is a winner it will be by a goal or two.

I agree, all this doom and gloom with the Arsenal supporters is just setting up a 0-1 win for them. Like I said before I cant see Anderson or Rafael starting after Wednesday night but what I would like to see would be...

-------------De Gea--------------
Rafael---Evans---Ferdinand---Evra
-------------Carrick-------------
-------Cleverley--Anderson-------
-------------Young-------------
----------RVP-----Rooney----------

Subs: Lindegaard, Wootton, Scholes, Valencia, Nani, Hernandez, Welbeck

Utd's offence will make short work of our defence, but our offence could do the same to yours, Arsenal are a team that are so inconsistent its impossible to call. Its helped by no Gervinho, Podolski has looked brilliant when Gervinho hasn't played, and terrible when he has, he's not a real winger, he's a striker, and he only shines when there is good interplay and movement between the forward players.

For Germany its him and Klose playing off each other looked brilliant, him and Gomez a tap in artist with no real ability to bring others into a game and Podolski looked rubbish.

One of Podolski's problems is he's been a bit rubbish as the team ridiculously focused on Gervinho for the past 5-6 games, hard to say if he'll come out all guns firing, same for Giroud, will Wenger even play him. It's all a big question, will Wenger got Verm at left back with Kos/Mert in the middle, especially after that performance by Kos which was completely inept.

The main thing this season is most teams have big problems, even the top teams, and every team has a game where they look great and a game where they look inept.

Given everything, I wouldn't expect Arsenal to pull off a good win at Old Trafford, nor Utd to crumble at home, they could go behind but they'll have that home support, strength, mentality to come back.

Big game tonight. Brighton vs Leeds is usually a good game, but we just aren't scoring enough goals atm so I don't really know what to expect! It was 3-3 last year though.

I would like to go, but the guys I usually go with are in Amsterdam this week and I don't really fancy going on my own to a late friday night game tbh....it is a pretty long journey there and back.(I was hovering over the buy button earlier though;))

Lets hope Leeds burned themselves out against Southampton.....did they play a strong team?

Anyone know if Ashley Cole will play? He's doubtful apparently.

Di Matteo listed Juan Mata (hamstring) and David Luiz (ankle) as his main concerns for Saturday afternoon's match.

Ashley Cole has recovered from a swollen ankle and is available but Frank Lampard (calf) remains out. Wednesday's Champions League match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk will come too soon for the midfielder.

Dont know what to expect from us, As usual we will rely on Gerrard/Suarez if either have a bad game seems rest of the team does too.

Sahin/Allen both doing really well for us but goals need to be coming from them too.

Ill be optimistic and say we will win 2-1

Liverpool always beat us :p

Be hugely shocked if we win, we are good enough to beat Liverpool but we never really seem to play well against you.

Chesney and Gibbs both confirmed out for this game so if I was Fergie I'd be looking to exploit this. Play Valencia RW to take advantage of Santos and work on pressuring the keeper fat set pieces.

Just a bit deserved!

Stonewall pen there.

I don't think you would get good odds on Michael Brown finishing this game...

Edit- Diouf vs El-Abd...this could be good

We were awful for the first 40 mins :p

That guy is a dirty **** to be honest so the ref had to give something sooner rather than later.

We need to get Browny off :D
