Really? If he was completely alongside and stayed on his feet that is one thing, but he's mostly behind, he's crashed into him, he clips his leg for good measure, takes him down and falls on top of him all without getting close to the ball. In what world would that not be given most of the time.

I think they misjudged it. They didn't eealise it was marginal. Hence the protests. Apart from Koscielny I don't think any of them could have known. With the run of play they assumed it was a yard or 2.
