Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 5th October 2014]

WTF Rodgers is doing? Gerrard is dead on his feet around 60 minutes after playing 2 games in a week yet here we are again with him at 34 playing 3 games in a week and one striker, again? Really? No doubt a two man midfield again just to wind us all up :mad:

True ill just get angry and go play FIFA were we do win! Rodgers just seems tactically out of sorts himself this year, He hasn't attempted to change it enough and sticks to same way so same problem persists
 
Gerrard works best when Allen/Henderson next to him as they can do all press work and running etc so Gerrard can do his long passes and dictate play but in this 2 man midfield its just broken

Obviously we have near enough a complete new defence (that is constantly changing) but I think not having a decent Coutinho or Allen is seriously hurting us, I don't really think Hendo does a huge amount to help Steve where as Allen seemed to by creating huge pressure at the front and Coutinho constantly giving the other team the ball is awful.

Its also a pretty bad state when we can't rely on our actual defenders to defend much either and basically every goal is blamed on set piece of midfield (Gerrard)

I would usual agree with the new defense but the mistakes were making are just basic errors e.g. not tracking some one or not moving so its more lazy defending than its new people for me.

That and every team scores from a corner cause no one moves, seems like a complete lack of communication goes on between them all

I think our coaching from corners is ridiculous or players ignore it, think how many times Skrtel won a header attacking the ball last year in the oppositions box, instead of being given a chance to do that in ours he just hugs them and Lovren attempts to do the same albeit with even less success...

Yep, and the year before. Still one of my favourite Liverpool players and he's excellent when he sticks to the task he's been given but that doesn't happen very often and he's too prone to leaving a massive gap behind him for players to run in to. Also don't like the fact Henderson, after a fantastic season last year, is becoming a child minder for him which is hurting his own game. More than anything I think Rodgers is putting Gerrard before himself and the team which is hurting everyone.
